Job Title: Retail Clerk

Location: Mayfield Hts, Maple Hts, or Painesville

Employment Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week; schedule may vary, weekends and evenings required.

Summary: Working with some oversight, but independently, the Retail Department delivers consistent value by offering superior customer service at Electronics Flip. Retail clerks are responsible for checking in merchandise, assisting customers, handling payments, and tracking inventory in the store.

Responsibilities:

  • Stock and organize shelves with merchandise.
  • Price merchandise according to condition and the current market.
  • Interact with customers by assisting them with inquiries and offering additional merchandise to enhance their purchase.
  • Assist customers with questions about trade-ins, repairs, and merchandise that may not currently be in stock.
  • Learn and utilize computer-based inventory system to check for warehouse stock and monitor online retail listings.
  • Ring out customers’ final purchases by totaling their purchase cost, processing payment correctly, and logging the purchase in to designated inventory system as instructed.
  • Create and post social media postings advertising the store and specific products via Craigslist and Facebook.
  • Communicate with management and warehouse staff to ensure the store has proper stock of popular items and if there is defective inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and organize store.
  • Assist in listing products on to online retail venues including the store’s website and Amazon.
  • Manage start of day and end of day cash drawers.
  • Complete necessary tasks for opening the store and closing the store based on assigned shift each day.
  • Show your professionalism and enthusiasm to deliver great results.
  • Other duties as assigned depending on workload and time of year.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED, previous retail experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year electronics sales STRONGLY PREFERRED.
  • Basic to intermediate computer proficiency (MS Office, Google).
  • Customer service oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, conduct independent research, and use decisive judgment under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and use critical thinking skills to prioritize work needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Team-minded with flexibility to adjust daily tasks based on staffing needs.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $10.00 to $12.00 /hour

Job Title: Processor (Cell Phone & Electronics Repair)

Location: Mayfield Hts, Maple Hts, or Painesville

Employment Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week. Saturday availability required.

Summary: Working with some oversight, but independently, the Processing Department delivers consistent value by testing products for quality and function. After testing, Repair Processors distribute products accordingly or repair parts as needed. Repair Processors also assist in the Retail environment assisting customers with repair needs. Dealing with a wide variety of product mix -- the Processing position is a key element in our sales chain; accurately relaying the condition of each item.

Responsibilities:

  • Test electronic devices such as video game consoles, computer equipment and media players to ensure they are working properly with no external or internal damage.
  • Perform necessary repairs on electronics for re-sale.
  • Assist in Retail locations with customer repairs (cell phones, video game consoles, laptops, etc.)
  • Provide strong customer service in Retail locations and assist Retail team with completing and boosting sales.
  • Learn and handle trade-ins with customers at Retail locations.
  • Learn and understand differences between each product and their coinciding accessories.
  • Sort and review incoming product orders.
  • Prevent buyer dissatisfaction by ensuring that merchandise quality control is accurate and complete before products are placed on inventory shelves.
  • Prevent buyer dissatisfaction by ensuring that merchandise prices are current and accurate to market.
  • Recognize potential loss situations prior to accepting a trade-in or sending product to the Listing Department and directs products to appropriate departments.
  • Accurately put away checked-in inventory ensuring that items are being placed in correct locations in the correct, working condition.
  • Dust/clean shelves and merchandise. Organize processing stock.
  • Pick up and discard paper, packing material, and any other debris.
  • Assist in checking inventory levels for discrepancies/shortages/overages.
  • Cross-trains in other areas of the Company to assist in various departments as needed based on order volume and time of year.
  • Help with inventory reconciliation.
  • Communicate with management when there are defective items in need of exchange or return.

  • Other duties as assigned depending on workload and time of year.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years demonstrated cell phone and electronics experience, Bachelor's Degree in related field may substitute some experience.
  • At least 1 year customer service experience in a retail setting required.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency (MS Office, Google).
  • Ability to multi-task, conduct independent research, and use decisive judgment under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and use critical thinking skills to prioritize work needs.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Flexibility to assist the Company between three locations.

Work Requirements:

  • Ability to remain team-oriented and remain flexible to changing job duties depending on work load.
  • Ability to sit, stand or move for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to follow safety precautions in a warehouse setting.
